Birlik Yoli condemns the repression and arrests of women and girls in Herat.

Political Movement “Birlik Yoli” (Path of Unity) Strongly Condemns Taliban Brutality Against Women and Girls in Herat Province

In the name of Freedom, Human Dignity, and Justice

The political movement Birlik Yoli (Path of Unity) expresses deep concern and a profound sense of historical responsibility in strongly condemning the Taliban’s brutal and systematic arrests of women and girls in Herat Province.

These repressive actions represent a clear and unacceptable violation of human dignity, fundamental human rights, and the basic principles of justice.

Herat, one of the oldest and most illustrious cities in the region, has long stood as a symbol of civilization, culture, knowledge, and enlightenment. Throughout history, it has embodied the elevated status of women in our society.

The current campaign of intimidation, arbitrary arrests, and inhumane treatment against the women and girls of Herat is not a legitimate security measure, it is a direct assault on the historical, cultural, and moral conscience of the citizens of Afghanistan.

We firmly believe that women are not peripheral to society but lie at its very core. They are the backbone of the family, the primary educators of future generations, and the essential drivers of social progress and vitality.

Any policy of ill-treatment, arbitrary detention, humiliation, or systematic repression against women inflicts deep and lasting damage on the social fabric, psychological health, and ethical foundations of the entire nation, eroding trust, stability, and the possibility of peaceful coexistence.

Birlik Yoli emphasizes that genuine social order and security can never be achieved, nor should they ever be pursued through the brutal suppression of women and the violation of their fundamental rights.

History has repeatedly demonstrated that regimes relying on coercion, exclusion, and the erasure of women from public life do not produce stability, instead, they sow the seeds of crisis, widespread resentment, social fragmentation, and long-term instability.

The ongoing silence and indifference of the international community in the face of the Taliban’s brutality against women in Herat is deeply alarming and morally indefensible. Human rights principles lose all credibility when they are applied selectively or subordinated to political expediency and double standards.

The Birlik Yoli Political Movement stands in unwavering solidarity with the women and girls of Herat, their families, and all freedom-loving and justice-seeking individuals across Afghanistan.

We urge national and international institutions, human rights organizations, and democratic governments to respond with serious, immediate, and decisive action to halt these violations and hold those responsible to account.

We remain convinced that the future of Afghanistan must be built upon justice, human dignity, the rule of law, and the full and equal participation of all citizens, men and women, and not upon fear, exclusion, and the systematic repression of half of society.

Long live Freedom, Justice, and Human Dignity

Birlik Yoli Political Movement
